Mardi Gras party at Prana

Akki invited us to the Mardi Gras party that her apartment complex was holding. The creole food is pretty good and drinks were free, so who could refuse. We should try cooking this type of food at home more.

No. 2

Over the last few weeks, Siobhan has been telling us she'd pooped in her diaper and has been exposed to the training potty chairs at the Millsers and Markers. She has also been asking us to read the Dora potty training book to her. Yesterday, she told Damith that she had to poop prior to filling her diaper.

So this evening as we were finishing dinner, Siobhan said she had to 'poo poo'. I quickly took her upstairs to the spare bathroom and sat her on the toilet. As we haven't gotten her a potty chair, I held her as she sat on the toilet. I wasn't sure if she would actually poop, but within a few minutes, she did. We were quite impressed; she could challenge any adult!

Siobhan was very excited and proud; she even wanted to help flush the toilet. As Damith was talking to Indy, she got to share her big news with him via Skype; the first thing she said when she saw him was poo poo and pointed upstairs! Our baby is growing up...

Siobhan's Passport

Today Siobhan had her passsport picture taken and we completed her application process at the main post office in Boulder. It was the quickest passport appointment I have ever had - we were out the door within 20 minutes!

Now to start planning our Sri Lanka summer trip...

Little helper

Last night I opened a box of new diapers, but was too tired to carry the box up to Siobhan's closet.

This morning while I was sorting laundry, Siobhan was playing with her toys. When I went to check on her, a quarter of the diapers were scattered around the room!

I asked her to help me put them back in the box. As I was picking them up, she was neatly putting the diapers in one of her toy boxes.

Note to self: be more specific with instructions!
