Bolder Boulder

This morning Damith woke and was feeling much better; thanks to the miracles of drugs! Because of his bum leg and us not being in terribly great shape, we walked the entire 10K. One of the perks of the race is to see some of the uniqueness of Boulder (such as belly dancers in any shape or size and home owners offering beer instead of water/gatorade).  This year did not disappoint...

Superman & Wonder Woman family

SWAT team all geared up

Dubbed them the pink tutu team!

We finished in 2:02:57

We were disappointed that the parachuters were grounded due to the wind; overall it was a fun race.

While walking out of the stadium with the Millsers we made plans to meet for lunch. However, as we had parked in south Boulder and rode the bus to the start line, we had a long slow wait for the return buses. Our wait was so long that Tyler and Cody had time to nap in the car while waiting for us to show up at the restaurant! Maybe next time we'll park closer to the University like the Millsers did.

After lunch we all enjoyed a three hour nap and then yummy Sri Lankan dinner at Akki's!

Mother's Day

In preparation of Bolder Boulder, we talked the Millsers into joining us again this year for the Mother's Day 5K around City Park in Denver and the Zoo afterwards. It was surprisingly cool this morning for May, but we were prepared.
Let the race begin
Arriving at the park, we got reserved parking near the entrance/exit of the Denver zoo. However, according to Damith, we had to walk another 1k to the start of the race! Siobhan walked/ran small portions of the race; maybe next year she'll participate even more.

Approaching the finish line

We did it!
The race photographers seemed to like Damith the most out of all of us.Was it the bright cap? Or did they like his pocket buddy?
Damith in action!
As race participants we were allowed free access to the Denver zoo. We decided to see just a few of the animals, enjoy lunch and then the zoo train ride. We spent the rest of the day relaxing around the house.

Wicked!

Every trip we've made to New York, Damith and I talk about taking in a Broadway show. But we have yet to catch one. So the next best thing is for us to watch a traveling Broadway show and thus tonight we enjoyed the awarding winning Wicked.  To not give too much away, the musical is told from the perspective of the Land of Oz witches.

I think we will take in more shows, and perhaps even catch one during our next trip to New York.
